Thank you for coming to this page to celebrate the life of Ruth House. We are grateful for having known such a wonderful and profound woman as Ruth. In this bittersweet moment of loss and her homegoing, she will be much missed.
Born Ruth Ann Griswould in Baltimore Maryland in early 1932, she grew up on Edmondson Avenue with her large family. Ruth worked in various positions around Baltimore and remained in the city until her marriage to Prince House in 1953.
She and Prince had two sons, Alan House (1952) and Steven House (1954), and Ruth is survived by her son Alan and will be reunited with Prince, and Steven in the afterlife. Ruth's siblings and large extended family have all crossed the Jordan and her Children, Grandchildren, and Great Grandchildren remain to celebrate her life.
Known for her candid and sincere attitude, Ruth was an honored and respected wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend to many. Her faith and service to her community and church were substantial and recognized often, along with her talents of competitive bowling and crocheting for others.
We will all miss her authenticity and caring spirit that touched each of us in its own unique way.
II Corinthians 5: 6-8 So we are always of good courage. We know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, for we walk by faith, not by sight. Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord.
