Vickie was a member at Ashley Baptist Church in Belding MI. While in Tennessee she worshiped at Kingdom Ministries Worship Center in Murfreesboro, TN where Pastor Darrel Whaley baptized her into Christ in 2001. She had participated in many activities including the ministry "Clowning Around" where she became Penelope Purple to spread the joy of Christ. Vickie also made Love Quilts with her husband Sam at home and gave them to whomever needed just a little of Christ's love. They crocheted hats, mittens, and scarves for the children of Head Start of Montcalm and Gratiot Counties in Michigan.
And of course, if you knew Vickie for very long she had probably made you a cake! Vickie was a very talented cake decorator and has made countless cakes for weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, and many other occasions for the people of Alma and Gratiot County!
Vickie was a giving person and loved to help others especially with the little things like hats and mittens. In that spirit, in lieu of flowers we are collecting hats, scarves, and mittens for the children of Hillcrest elementary in Alma MI. This is were some of her first work in charity began when she hand painted Disney murals on the walls of the gymnasium and library. Hillcrest Elementary is where both Kyle and Lynna attended and it is fitting to help the children of the neighborhood she raised her kids in one last time.
There will be a memorial service for Vickie at the VFW Post, 1295 W Monroe Rd, St. Louis MI 48880 on October 22, 2019 at 4:30pm.
