What a warm feeling to see Chris’s photo and his wonderful family. I’m one of the brothers from another mother in the fire community. We worked together for 15-18 years on the NFPA committee but we were brothers after the first meeting.

Chris made so many huge contributions to the fire service respiratory protection standards. Lucy and family, I want you to know that every SCBA in the US and North America was changed to better protection from excessive heat—and it was due to Chris Anaya’s persistence and hard work. Mostly, it was due to the love of his brother fire fighters.

We loved to hear him talk about his family and the fun times and memories you have. His laugh was so contagious and I miss his brotherhood. His brother fire fighters miss him every day and thank you for sharing him with us.
