Mark Muerth's Album: Wall Photos

I had shared this on my facebook and would just prefer to repost:

Last night we lost one of the most genuine individuals I have ever had the pleasure to know and work with. He would literally take the shirt off his back (or yours if you weren't careful) to help someone in need. I looked up to him as a mentor and never once caught him not loving what he did at the firehouse.

As many of my Brothers and Sisters know, he was my partner in crime when we chased down those dastardly beer thieves in the big white garbage fire truck. Before walking into the Chief's office, I can still remember his words of wisdom. "Muerth, you just keep quiet and let me do the talking. I'm the senior guy, I'll take the hit." I failed to listen to Bob that day. Nonetheless, he was always looking out for others.

Another one of my all time favorite memories with Bob, was when we received a call to help police find a homeless person in the woods. Someone had called on this guy for rummaging threw a garbage bin looking for food. A number of us had searched for a while in the woods that evening. Ultimately the search was called off and we headed back to the station. Unbeknownst to me Bob and others had found the guy. He gave him 20 bucks and told him to lay low for awhile until the cops left. He truly believed in live and let live.

May you finally rest in peace, Brother.
