On October 31st, 1965, (a Saturday night) I was TRICK-OR-TREATING FOR UNICEF. It was the first and only time I ever did it. I was going door-to-door with a young girl one grade younger. We did it with VERY MINIMAL results and we returned to the church. By the time I got home (which was after Halloween kids had gone home) Grandma notified me that a group of TRICK-OR-TREATERS from her French I class had come by. So she let the teenage girls into the house.

Grandma suggested that she make popcorn for the 8(?) girls and watch GET SMART which was a very popular TV show. Oh, the girls were elated! All the girls' parents only watched the LAWRENCE WELK Show which was old-fashioned and boring. According to Grandma everyone had a great time. They stayed for the 1-2 hour show and left.

I came home and saw that everyone had a great time. Popcorn dishes were all over the kitchen with no popcorn left AND I missed GET SMART while doing something for the church. I never did it again, but Grandma sure did enjoy her French class (students) visit.
