I remember my first conference at Select Staffing and I watched in awe as people were given recognition for their sales achievements and I asked my then manager Gloria Orozco what I needed to do to "make it". During one of the breakout sessions, I went over to the refreshments and was pondering what to get. Then someone, incredibly tall stood next to me and without looking I asked out loud, "what should it get?" He looked at me and with a glint of confidence in his eye said to me, "GO BIG". My mouth dropped because it was Steve. A couple of years later, he invited me up the stage to share the Mr. Potato Head story a few hundred people at the JW Marriott. I'll never forget those moments that I got to stand next to the owner of the company. I was able to achieve goals and milestones at Select and then Partners that I would never have imagined. Steve was not only larger than life, he also proved that he was human when we all sat, a very small group of pioneers at Partners Personnel. We believed in Steve and we believed in the mission of creating a brand of staffing with real service to our clients and our associates alike. Steve, I write this with tears in my eyes and thank you again for everything.
