I always remember looking up to Alice. She was my mother's younger sister and 11 years younger than me. When I was young, I would spend summers with my grandparents in Fort Myers. Every day when Alice came home from work, she would bring me a surprise....paper dolls, coloring books, jacks or candy. As I got older, I would spend time with Alice and Ray. We would always have fun! As an adult we still had so much fun! A special memory was going on a cruise with my mom, Alice, Julie, Vicki and Tara. We toured Key West on a conch train with Alice telling us all about Key West. The driver asked her if she would like to do the tour since she knew more than he did. Dan and I brought four of our grandchildren to their home in Hayesville years ago. She made this huge dinner for us with their vegetables from their garden and to this day the kids all say they want corn on the cob like Aunt Alice made. Alice was always at family events....weddings (doing the jitterbug with Ray), birthdays and any events with her family. Alice was silly, adventurous, kind, fun, energetic, gentle, loving, compassionate, sentimental, beautiful, classy, loving and faithful to her Lord....all the qualities I admired and hope to be like her.
