Born in 1945 (the day after Hiroshima) he was called the 'big bomb' due to his size! He grew up as an only child but with a very close relationship with his cousins Dita and Eleni. He was sent to a German school in his youth (which would influence his later work & marriage) and studied in the American University of Beirut, where he graduated in Economics.
He married his University love Anita and they had a child together, Jason, in 1967. Jason grew up between Athens, Hamburg and later London. It was in Hamburg that Chriss met Annelie in 1976. Annelie and Chriss married in 1980, and bore Christina (1981 in Hamburg) and Julian (1985 in London). He was deeply proud of all of his children, and also his four grandchildren. Chriss and Annelie moved to East Sussex in 2006, and into their current home in Hailsham in 2007.
Chriss was always a self-made man and ran his own companies for decades, and up until today still had two large clients left (from accounting software he made 15 years ago!). Chriss also became a town councillor in May 2011 and was reelected in 2015 and served within various committees, and also as a chairman in one. He cared deeply about fulfiling a civic duty.
We know he treasured all of the people he encountered throughout his life, none more so than his wife Annelie, who has been his partner for 43 years. He wasn't always the best at expressing his emotions, nor about telling us his own story! So please do share the stories you have of him here, it will enrich our memory of him for the future.
