Dwaine “Uncle Dewey” Plummer died unexpectedly due to complications from his Leukemia (CLL) at Providence Hospital on February 5, 2019 in Portland, OR at the age of 56
Dwaine is survived by his mother Eleanor Kerr - Hafla of Havre, MT; wife Tammy Bakken – Plummer of Canby, OR; son Jordon Plummer and his wife Sara of Glendive, MT; daughter Karra Plummer of Willsonville, OR; sister Sheila Barthel and her husband Mike of Havre, MT. He is preceded in death by his father Monte Plummer of Glendive/Baker, MT.
Dwaine was born in Miles City, Montana to Monte & Eleanor Plummer on April 17, 1962. He graduated from Dawson County High School in 1981 then attended a 2 year welding program at UM College of Technology in Missoula. After graduating this program he returned to Glendive where he met and married Tammy in 1985. A year later they moved to Oregon where he continued to work in the tire industry. They had their first child, Jordon in 1989. In 1993 Dwaine’s job took them to Spokane, WA where they welcomed their second child, Karra, and they continued to work and raise their family until spring of last year. Dwaine and Tammy sold their home in Spokane April, 2018 and moved in with Tammy’s sister and brother-in-law in Canby, OR while they all searched for the dream property they planned to start their new venture on.
Dwaine had several nieces and nephews who grew to expect his constant teasing & joking and all loved and looked forward to his Donald Duck impressions. He was an active member of his Spokane parish, Our Lady of Fatima, and 3rd degree member of their Knights of Columbus council. Dwaine’s 35+ year career was spent in the tire industry where he was admired and respected by members of the tire community across the country.
A memorial service will be held in Spokane, Washington May 18, 2019.
