Joe, you have left us too soon but we promise to carry on your Joie de Vivre with each day.

He always had a smile on his face, and it was never a dull moment with him. I have fond memories of him and my dad walking from cafe to cafe in Italy, always looking for the best espresso in town! He made every trip memorable, no matter the destination. When I was a little kid, he would always greet me with a big smile and go "LUKE IN MY EYE!!", and upon hearing I would crack up.
I'll always have the image of him and the family dog Sophia laying in the sun doing what they did best; looking good.
Joe, it will never be the same without you. I love and miss you with all my heart. less

As mike crupi put it , he definitely should of changed the locks on us. As teenagers, We used to ransack his house for days at a time, bombard the dinner table, come in and out multiple times, and it didnt even matter to him, he never said a word. As we got older into our 30's , Joe managed to stay young, and he would wear the tightest crisp tshirts on the planet as if he was 25. travelling with him was a blast and he was one of the only adults in the family who wanted in on our jokes. He lived to joke around and the jokes were relentless. once you started he wouldnt stop. I will miss him calling me by my nickname "crack" and i will miss saying his nickname "ray".
He was a good husband, great father, a great godfather to my brother, and fun cousin to my father and mother, and a legend to me.
I am thankful to have shared such wonderful memories with Joe. It was a pleasure to have worked with him. His friendly smile and passion for work is unforgettable. My heartfelt condolences to the family.

I remember the first time we met while working at Tristone , you called me on the" Mike" ( we both called it Miccuzu) and asked how I liked my espresso, and throughout the years you never forgot.
Many memories we created, they will always be with me and I thank you my friend.

My name is Alessandro and I am Joe Crupi's son in law. I'd like to first start by sending you all a thank you from the Crupi family. Luciana, Anthony, Jen and I are very touched by all of your messages. They will be reaching out here in the coming days to express to you how much all of these meant.
In the meantime, Mariano has expressed that a number of you are inquiring about a donation you wish to make. His children have been hard at work for the last few days preparing something truly special. We ask that you please donate through the link below, where you can also read his story.
Due to the current restrictions in place we are unable to provide him the large in person send off that he deserved, however, if you wish to observe his funeral mass we will be live streaming it this Friday at 2pm. If you are on Facebook, you can simply search "In Memory of Joe Crupi". It will also be available to those who wish to observe who are not on Facebook, and we will be providing that link to Lauren to share in the coming days when it has been prepared.
We know that the Starlight family is truly with us during this very difficult time, and we know that you are hurting with us. Just know that whenever the sun shines, that's his little way of sharing that infectious smile and his glorious ever present tan.

Joe's positive, happy attitude and huge smile will be incredibly missed. Outside of typical work, my family and I have great memories of seeing him at the annual Princess Margaret Charity Event. He always welcomed the kids with high fives, Kirsten with hugs and me with arm or beer belly rubs saying his typical "hey Davey". About seven years ago, when Kirsten was 9 months pregnant, he gave her huge belly a big rub and we joke that even baby Viv got the positive "Joe" touch. We will forever remember him very fondly. less

However, in a large office with so many people, I knew who Joe was. I think that says a lot about his big & magnetic personality. Every time I saw Joe he was buzzing around the office smiling & engaging with everyone around him. Particularly, I noted his energy & his ability to make others laugh. An elevator ride had everyone on board chuckling, whether Starlight employee or not. It’s easy to understand why so many people loved & gravitated towards Joe. May it comfort you to know that your family is in the heartfelt thoughts & prayers of so many people at this very sad time. less

He always spoke to everyone and would take the time to check in on you and make sure you were smiling as broadly as he was. Who couldn’t laugh when he got up to mischief with a big grin. He was all about connections and could make some type of connection with anyone he met. He brought fun and friendship into our workplace and made things just that much more interesting! He had nicknames for everyone in the office, and he could turn any name into an Italian name, including Heather, which could become Heatherino (lol????). This photo was taken after a Raptors playoff win, but I’m pretty sure what Fredy and I were trying to convey here, was that Joe you will always be a #1 to us! Joe was not an ordinary individual; he stood out for being a light that was shinning bright. His passion for life made him truly deserving of the gift of life! He lived life with joy, dignity, grace, resilience and gratitude. He was a loving family man, loyal to his friends and very reliable with a strong work ethic.
His energy and smile was infectious; he was spirited, smart, charismatic and most importantly compassionate. His essence was driven by a playful and joyful young boy who always wanted to capture the beauty of life and live in awe. Joe was always solving problems and would say to me “Droond what about me?” We would always laugh out loud and say to each other what about me? That was our thing to say to each other.
It was a humbling experience and a great privilege to have crossed paths with our dear and loving Joe, my condolences to his wife Luciana, and his children Anthony and Victoria, as well as, his great friends and colleagues Mariano and Daniel. May he rest in peace!!! less

Like the time Joe was in charge of our office construction and the internal staircase was 6 months delayed, Daniel told him he had to build a fire station pole and train all the employees on it.
Or the time(s) you would see Joe at the ACC in the platinum lounge and wonder how the hell this guy got another invite to the game. He's the only guy that went to every game but didn't have seasons tickets.
Or the time we went to Barcelona and on day one, he and Mariano found the only authentic Italian hole in the wall and they made us eat, and eat and eat (we did a lot of over eating together!). And while we're on food, Joe made a mean Italian salad. He liked to add salt...a lot of salt... and then just a little bit more. Delicious!
Or every year when he swore he knew where we were going for the next annual retreat. My highlight was stringing him along, making him get Japanese-English dictionaries when we were going to Buenos Aires. He looked forward to this trip more than anyone.
Or the numerous times he offered his time and support to our charitable events. Showing up at 7am to unload boxes and hand out swag. To decorate trees for the Wish Foundation children or to fly with the kids to the North pole in search of Santa.
Joe, you were a great friend to everyone. The first person we called or wanted on our team. We will keep telling your stories for years to come and raise a nice glass of red (or two) in your honour. You have left an unforgettable and incredible mark on this earth. Rest in peace. less

All we ever did was crack jokes. It was relentless, and we loved it. I wouldn’t change a thing. I pretty much lived at his house from 2004-2013. I still barge in every now and then. The man should’ve probably changed the locks or the garage code, but he never did.
Family gatherings will never be the same again without you Joe. He leaves behind an incredible family who I hold close to my heart forever.
Having said that, this man lived 150 years worth of experiences in 66 years. And he has taught me a lot about how I should go about my life.
