Hubert Remi Ngueha died on April 27 after battling the Covid 19 virus. He had been on life support for two weeks at Adventist White Oak Medical Center in Maryland. Born on 7 November 1965 in Victoria, Cameroon of the Bamileke people, Hubert was active in CVX in his home country and continued his CLC vocation when he emigrated to the USA, initially in Texas before moving to the Washington, D.C. area. He was close friends with Fred Leone, and through the years was a member of the Whisper of God CLC (Silver Spring, MD), St. Aloysius CLC and Living Water CLC. Hubert was active in the African French speaking community of St. Camillus Catholic Church. For many years he was the journals coordinator for the Catholic University of America Press. Most recently, he worked for the University in international development and had been pursuing a PhD in business. Hubert leaves behind three children: a daughter from his first marriage NGUEHA Christiane Audrey and two sons NGUEHA William Bertrand (adopted) and NGUEHA Patrick Remi, and their mother, Florence. Hubert is mourned also by surviving family members: Mother -Mrs. Simo Ngaba Marie Delphine; Brothers- Simo Frederick, Simo Flaubert, Fogue Hugues, and Simo Joel; Sisters- Njiki Martine, Simo Damaris, Kameni Loïs, and Shaga Myriane; Cousins- Nana Patricia, Nana Margaret, Nana Noumen Margaret, Nana Lawrence, and Nana Michael. All those who knew Hubert remember his extraordinary kindness, bright smile, and quiet, gentle spirit. This compassionate man was well-loved by many throughout the world and will be greatly missed. We hold Hubert in the full Light of God’s gracious love and we pray for those who mourn his loss. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
