Micheal Lee Wallach was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on December 21, 1943 to Vivian and Maurice Wallach. He was one of three children with an older sister Roberta Wallach and younger brother Dale Wallach. The family relocated to North Hollywood, California and this is where Michael grew up and became a young adult. In 1964, he fell in love with Beverly McKnight and started a young family welcoming his first daughters, Karen and Kristine Wallach, to the Wallach clan. As love and life can sometimes change, he later met Michaele Kiefer in 1972, they continued on to Colorado, and later to Wisconsin were they welcomed two more daughters, Jillian and Jeannine Wallach, to the clan. A career opportunity with Major Marketing Inc. relocated Michael to Spokane, Washington, and Washington became his home for the next 20+ years. Michael put much love, sweat, and tears into his successful career. Times changed, and in 2005 he moved to Lincoln City, Oregon where he began his life with his third love, Peggy Tepolt. Newport, Oregon led to Sequim, Washington, then to Las Vegas, Nevada, and finally to a much loved boat house on Lake Pleasant just north of Phoenix, AZ. During his lifetime, he lived in many different places and states, but Arizona was the place he finally called home.
He is survived by:
His older sister: Roberta Wallach
Three of his daughters: Kristine Marchant, Jillian Moss, and Jeannine McGuire
And also by 4 grandchildren: Sienna Moss, Avery Moss, Clover McGuire, and Malachi McGuire.
Following are some words and memories from the heart that keep our remembrance of him alive:
Our Dear Michael Wallach
Curly hair
with a long pony tail in back
never quite turning a solid gray
A silver streaked fox to his last days
He was a socks and sandals guy
before that was even a trend
he always had a calm, cool temper
even until the end
He would sing-song the names of his daughters
Karen, Kristine, Jillian, Jeannine
like puzzle pieces that were meant to fit
Hearing his love simply in the way that he sang
He had a special hum
like the starting of a car
when you were in your zone
and happy to be right where you are
He was a jolly man
Whistling and cleaning
Always preoccupied or tinkering with something
But he wasn’t a talkative man
Never wanting to be the center of attention
Or mixed in with a big crowd
He was a card shark
That swears he wasn’t cheating
But somehow he performed magic tricks to the untrained eye
Smoke and mirrors
An expert salesman
Always peddling the next best product…and proudly
He always saw the potential
In all products that he sold
he had that unshakeable, entrepreneurial spirit
And he was allergic to the sun
With two different shades
Red or White
Although he was a true American patriot
Claiming Red, White and Blue
But he was one who still loved the sun
For the energy that it brings
To make a beautiful garden grow
Given the opportunity
He would have turned a backyard
Into a bountiful garden
loving his cukes, peppers, tomatoes, cantaloupe…
A wizard in the kitchen
Always cooking with love and care
Slicing and dicing
and then a shiny sanitized glare
Egg Foo Young
Napa Cabbage
Brown Sauce
Salt, salt, salt, salt,
pepper, pepper, pepper, pepper
with a slice of butter on a saltine
The faithful captain
stayed on the boat until the end
carried now peacefully by the waves
for the rest of eternity
