We continue to grieve our loss of Nick but are immensely grateful for the many family and friends who have embraced us with their love and support. God has revealed His love through all of you. Some have asked about the video presented at Nick's memorial service - a beautiful piece created by his cousins, Christina and Simon. She requested to take their picture, and ended up posting them on her facebook where I saw. I recognized Bonnie, having worked with her for a period of time at CPAF, and thought it was so cool. I thought to share it later on in person, but never had the chance to.
My friend said she specifically remembers that Nick and his parents had some really cool signs, and wanted to take a photo. She also remembers Nick requesting a photo taken with his phone as well. She thought that Nick was such a good son to join his parents during the rally, and they were wonderful folks.
Sending much love to the Song family at this time. 💙 less

I knew him for only a few months, but he was such a kind student & so passionate about oceanography. I know in such a large university and through virtual classes the whole learning experience can be so impersonal and connection can seem near impossible, but Nick was a student we really cared for. Both the professors and I were invested in guiding him to succeed in the course, and it made us proud to watch him do well. He was a pleasure to teach and to talk about the oceans with, and as the quarter closed he was so generous with his praise for the course and our teaching. He sent me such a kind message at the end of the class thanking me for being his TA. It's rare people like him that make teaching such a rewarding experience, and I was heartbroken to learn of his passing. From Marine Science at UCSB, we are sending our deepest heartfelt condolences. May his memory be a blessing less

When he was little, when the kids would sing during Christmas and Easter or whatever the holiday would be, I would look for him on purpose. I'd be like, "Where's Nick... Where's Nick..." Cuz he was always so extra and hilarious and most entertaining to watch. Nick always has a special place in my heart. And now there will be a missing piece, for me, and for all of us who love him. I want to send the Song Family all of my love. I cry and I grieve with you. I hold Nick in remembrance with you. less
