MALONEY, Patrick, in his 100th year. Born in Blackrock, ERIE July 6, 1921. Passed away at Newmarket, ON, September 4, 2020. Predeceased by his wife Ruth (2001) and Ann (2008).
Pat was born in Ireland and, as an orphan, spent his early years in a foster home and then at Fegan’s Home for Boy’s orphanage in England. He came to Canada as a British Home Child and worked on a farm in Queensville, Ontario. He enlisted in the RAF and was stationed in Scampton, England during WWII where he served as a mid-upper gunner on a Lancaster bomber.
Pat returned to Toronto, graduated from University of Toronto and began a career as an educator with the Toronto District School Board.
He had a deep and trusting faith in God and often spoke of God’s hand on his life, leading and directing him.
Pat will be greatly missed by his two daughters, Maureen (John) and Marilee (Denis), grandchildren, Christopher (Erika), Emily (Scott), Julie (Kurt), Madeleine, Patrick, Benjamin, great-granddaughter, Harper, Ann’s family, sister-in-law, Grace, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
