It comes with great sadness to say, that after a three-year battle with lymphoma, Raymond Rezos passed away peacefully at his home, on November 26, 2019, surrounded by family.
Ray, known by most as Raymo, was born in 1948 in San Francisco, where he lived until moving to Concord in 1977 to raise a family. He worked for Muni in San Francisco for over 30 years, driving streetcars and cable cars, and training future generations of cable car gripmen.
Next March would have marked 47 wonderful years of marriage to his wife, Francine. Throughout their life together, they raised three amazing children, traveled around the globe, and made lifelong memories. They never took each other for granted, always respected each other, and thanked each other for even the little things; they were a great team. Ray was the best father anyone could want. He shared so much with his children, including a love for music, the Giants, the Warriors, and mankind.
All who knew Raymo would tell you that he was one of the kindest and most positive people you could possibly meet. He was incredibly brave throughout his fight with cancer, and remained positive even during the most difficult of times. The many loving friends who visited with him and sent him their best wishes would attest to that.
Ray is survived by his wife, Francine, his three children and their spouses, Rachel Rezos and Max Gerry, Gregory and Mary Rezos, and Michael and Vanessa Rezos, four adored grandchildren, his brother Ed Rezos, his sister and brother-in-law Lois and Allan Peterson. He also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, family and friends. He will be dearly missed by all that knew him and loved him. Everybody loved Raymo.
A celebration of life will be held in the spring to honor Ray, and remember the good times.
